Women need more support to make entrepreneurial dreams come true

7 Mar

Women want to run their own business because they dream of making a difference – but they don’t always attract as much finance as men to make their dreams become a reality.

A report by Delta Economics, reported in The Telegraph, says that 20% of women in the UK had been turned down for a loan, compared with 11.5% in Europe. Delta Economics director Rebecca Harding is quoted as saying that her research among 1500 female entrepreneurs reveals that women don’t talk up their value, and that women could benefit from coaching and support to help grow their businesses.

I wonder if this is another case of women hiding their light under a bushel, or not wanting to appear too pushy? If it really is a dream, then why not pursue it wholeheartedly and convincingly to make it come true…?
